This painting represents the setting sun over an enchanted pine forest. The sky is painted with a dominance of yellow, a multitude of other colors ranging from orange to red gives this sky a fantastic, sublime and flamboyant aspect that I particularly like. The landscape is represented here in Chinese shadow, and so is the character who inhabits this wood. It turns out that the character in this painting is a satyr dancing and playing music.
The Satyr is a well-known figure of the Greek mythological, It is a man at the foot of a goat having horn and living in the forests. We can distinguish the flute of pan or rather the syrinx that he uses to make his melodies. The contrast between the black block of shadows and the yellow sky is strong and vivid. The atmosphere of this painting is enigmatic and mysterious.
This original painting can be read multiple times, one visible in the open and another more secret at night. Indeed I have hidden a creature in the sky. These details almost invisible to the naked eye are revealed through black light (on the original painting only). This experience is not well conveyed by the photo or video. Ultimately, nothing beats the experience of the work with a human gaze. This painting is one of the most spectacular I have painted so far.
