“Geisha Libère-thé” is the title of this painting depicting a geisha overlooking a rough sea. The geisha is made up of stars a bit like a night sky, a galaxy.
Its resemblance to the Statue of Liberty is a nod to my city, Colmar. Behind it a surreal orange sky and a temple on a rock lost in the foam. The tea contained in the bowl held by the geisha, has poured around, because the thirst for freedom can not be contained.
This original painting can be read multiple times, one visible in the open and another more secret at night. Indeed the stars of the sky stand out in black light for an amazing result. This experience is not well reflected in the photo or video. Ultimately, nothing beats the human gaze.
