Illuminis! A word that sounds like a magic formula to make the light appear at the end of his finger.
I really like the attitude of this satire a little prankster, his mischievous smile and pointy ears have what I know what charming. As for the posture of this imaginary character drawn from mythology, it recalls noticeably the famous saint John Baptist by Leonardo da Vinci. The background of the painting is made of a mixture of dark color and black all in sobriety but far from simplistic.
Looking at this painting while moving one can observe it glittering as if the character was in a crystal mine or in an enchanted forest.
The satyr brings out a flame at the end of his finger as if by magic. The games of shadows dress him, it’s all in the suggestion which reinforces the erotic power of this character. There is talk of bestiality in the myth, but here, on the contrary, it’s all about sweetness and joy. The glow of the flame brings out the mischievous air of the man making the painting alive, powerful and intense.
