Here is a joyful painting that brings together imaginary creatures, each very different from the other, yet united in their eclecticism. We are here in a place called “Passage de Voûtebruine,” and one of the satyrs in this group seems to occupy a central place in this scene. With a wave of his arm, he brings his companions together, suggesting that they follow him. He is the improvised leader of this nomadic march, who will lead them to other festive horizons. Passing along this joyful path will leave them with the memory of rain on their skin.
